Cattrall, born 21 August 1956 is a Canadian actress from British Columbia. Her
most well-known role is her part in the role of Samantha Jones on HBO's Sex and
the City (1998-2004) and for which she was awarded five Emmy Award nominations
and four Golden Globe Award nominations, winning the 2002 Golden Globe for Best
Supporting Actress. In the movies Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City
2 (2010) she reprised the part of Samantha Jones. Cattrall was first seen in
Rosebud (1975) before she continued to play different roles on television. The
1980s saw she gained to fame with films like Ticket to Heaven (1981), Police
Academy (1984) and Hold-Up (1985). She also appeared in City Limits (1985), Big
Trouble in Little China(86), Mannequin (1987), Masquerade (1888), Midnight
Crossing (1988) and The Return of the Musketeers (1989). Tribute (1980),
Porky's(1981), Turk 182 (85) and Baby Geniuses(1999) were just a few of her
appearances. Other credits include The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Star
Trek VI The Undiscovered Country (91), Split Second (1992), Above Suspicion
(95), and 15 Minutes (192001).
