Kirsten Powers was born in Fairbanks (Alaska), USA on the 14th of December in 1967. Her involvement in the media with Anderson Cooper 360deg (2003, America's Newsroom (2006) and CNN Newsroom (1989) is the reason she is famous. Marty Makary was her first husband. As the deputy assistant U.S Trade Representative for Public Affairs, she was Vice President International Communications at America Online. Then she was Vice-President of the AOL Time Warner Foundation. Marty Makary is her ex-husband and is a Professor of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. The brother of her is an educator. Virginia Fields' mayoral campaign. Powers was also involved in the "Vote not on 3" campaign, which was defeated New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to stop primary elections for the party. Powers was a press secretary for Donnie Fowler's failed campaign to run for the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Powers has also worked as an advisor to a variety of non-profit organizations , including Human Rights First, the National Council for Research on Women (NCRW) and Donnie Fowler's unsuccessful campaign to become Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair.
