Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born on May 12, 1972, is an American actress. She is well-known as the lawyer Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she is a two-time winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress for Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She's also appeared on the NBC miniseries Whitney (2011)-2013, ABC's I'm with Her(2003)-2004 and TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011)-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12 in 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant for the United States Navy, while her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service; her family was frequently moved during her childhood, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona as well as in Japan. She followed in the footsteps her father and grandfather by studying architecture, painting, and drawing at a young age. As she pursued her love of the art of the visual, she found an interest in acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre in the course of her college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a BA in Studio Art. Seehorn, who was a student, wanted to go into theater after being encouraged by her teacher in acting. To make her stand out she was employed in various ancillary roles within D.C.'s theatre industry. When she did manage to be a part of major local theatre productions, and was forced to do odd jobs in order to survive, she continued to work in the film industry as an instructional filmmaker. She soon began to be involved in more TV productions. She was often compared to Bea Arthur, whom was described by her as "very humorous," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. The roles were typically cancelled after a couple of seasons. Seehorn was part of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, who is a lawyer and is the love of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
