Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She started her career in the industry at the age 4 working in commercials and voice overs. Private Parts was her first film. Her next film was The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" as a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah would be working alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). The following year, she was also cast as "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). Starring Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, and Joe Gould's Secret (2000), and Falcone (2000). Sarah trained in voice in jazz, tap and hip-hop as well as film and television. Sarah, a New Yorker, also performed as an invited artist in her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. After being taught at home by her mom, she attended public schools until the second grade. In 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until she graduated in 2008. Sarah at the time was 18, relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she landed in the air with the name "My American Family". The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). Today, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, but the most notable was the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
